Medical Asisstant
The Medical Assistant program prepares students for the Medical Assistant certification and a successful career in the medical field. Students will learn knowledge and skills applicable to medical assisting occupations. Students will complete the first year (more than 20 college credits) of a two-year program required for certification and will be co-enrolled with college students. Students will learn transferable knowledge for a variety of medical occupations. Employers are anxiously awaiting our graduates in this high demand field.
One year; 3 hour class, 3 credits per semester. Monday through Friday: 7:30am-10:00am.
Credits: Lab Science (up to 1.0) and/or Occupational/Elective Credits
Open to students in grades 11 and 12.
Prerequisite: Successfully meet college standards in the College Placement Test for English and math
Program Highlights:
- Students may earn more than 20 college credits through Grays Harbor College (with a grade of “B” or better).
- High school students can earn an Associate's degree and their MA certificate after just one year out of high school.
